18 - Understanding Magnets
Title
Understanding MagnetsReading Text
Magnets are special stones or pieces of metal. They can pull some metals, like iron, towards them. Every magnet has two ends called poles. One is the North Pole and the other is the South Pole. If you put two North Poles together, they push each other away. This is called repelling. If you put a North Pole and a South Pole together, they pull together. This is called attracting. We use magnets in many places. They hold pictures on our refrigerators. We also use them in compasses to find directions. Magnets are very useful tools.
