Tornadoes

An A2 level reading worksheet about tornadoes, how to stay safe, and the damage they can cause.

Title

Tornadoes

Reading Text

A tornado is a very dangerous storm. It looks like a tall, dark cloud that spins very fast. The spinning cloud touches the ground and the sky at the same time. Tornadoes have very strong winds. These winds can blow away cars, trees, and even houses. Tornadoes often happen during big thunderstorms. When a tornado is coming, the sky gets very dark, and you might hear a loud noise like a train. If you hear a tornado warning, you must go to a safe place quickly. The best place is a basement or a room without windows. You should stay away from glass and cover your head. After the tornado passes, people help each other clean up the damage. It is important to be prepared and stay safe during bad weather.
