The City Mouse visits his friend in the country. The Country Mouse lives in a cozy nest and eats simple food from her garden, like corn and carrots. The City Mouse thinks the country is boring. He invites her to the city. The city house is enormous, but the mice actually live in the dark basement. When they try to eat a feast of cake and cheese in the dining room, a scary cat attacks them! The cat has sharp claws. The Country Mouse is very scared. She decides that she prefers her quiet home and goes back to the country immediately.
