A bird and a whale fell in love. They met in the bay all summer. They talked about the moon and ate fish together. When autumn came, the water became cold. The whale wanted to go to warmer waters. The bird tried to become a whale, but he could not breathe underwater. He had to go back to the surface. Then, the whale tried to become a bird. She flapped her fins, but she was too heavy to soar in the sky. In the end, they were sad. They said goodbye because they could not live together.
