03 - Animal Superpowers
Title
Animal SuperpowersReading Text
Superman can fly. But real animals have superpowers too. These powers are called adaptations. An adaptation helps an animal survive in nature. The Chameleon. This lizard is the master of camouflage. Camouflage means blending in with the background. If the lizard sits on a green leaf, it turns green. A hungry predator, like a snake, cannot see it. The chameleon hides in plain sight! The Gecko. The gecko has sticky feet. It creates friction to hold onto the wall. It can walk on the ceiling upside down! The Cheetah. The cheetah has a flexible spine (backbone). This helps it run very fast. It is the fastest land animal.
