19 - Newton's First Law

Title

Newton's First Law

Reading Text

Isaac Newton was a famous scientist. He discovered rules about how things move. These rules are called laws. The First Law is about inertia. It says that an object will stay still unless a force moves it. A force is a push or a pull. The law also says that a moving object will keep moving straight. It will not stop unless a force stops it. For example, a soccer ball sits on the grass. It stays there. If you kick it, it moves. It stops later because the grass rubs against it.
